A Child is Missing Most Recent Recoveries:
Child - Harford County, Maryland Police Department When a 12 year old girl thought to be in need of medical assistance went missing in Abingdon on February 23, 2010, Corporal Gonzales activated A Child Is Missing Alert. More than 1,900 alert calls were placed to the neighborhood surrounding the 2900 block of Salford Drive, where the girl had last been seen. In response to the alert calls, Police received 12 calls from the public with information, ultimately leading to the girl’s safe recovery 2 miles from where she had gone missing.
Elderly - Clare County, Michigan Sheriff’s Office On the morning of Sunday, February 28, 2010, the Clare County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the disappearance of a man who threatened to harm himself, and then abandoned his vehicle, wallet and keys and left on foot. Deputy McClellan activated the A Child Is Missing Alert, and more than 2,700 calls were placed to the residents and businesses surrounding the 280 block of East Ohio Road in Farwell where the man had last been seen. “We received numerous calls leading us in the direction of this subject,” said the Clare County Sheriff’s Office, “and the final call was from someone with him.” Ultimately the man was found safe seven miles from where he had gone missing. <
